Holidays

If there is one feature of St. Ives that is at the top of the list of why you should visit, it’s the beaches. There are several beaches in the St. Ives area and they all offer something a bit different. You should check out the feature of each beach so see which one suits you best. Or you can spend your holiday trying them all out to see which one you like best! Heres a quick guide to some of the best beaches in the area.

Harbour

This is one of the beaches that is better to go to for the experience opposed to the beach itself. The waters of this beach are used by fisherman in the village to catch the fish of the day that you’ll most likely be eating later that night. You can watch the ships go out and come in. This is a great way to see how the fish makes it to your plate. It’s a cool thing to see!

Carbis Bay

After being placed inside of the top 20 of most beautiful beaches in the world it is hard to make an argument against taking a Carbis Bay holiday. This is the perfect beach to reach optimum relaxation. Spending all day laying out in the sun is encouraged here and there is no reason you shouldn’t take advantage of that. There are also great Carbis Bay apartments you can stay in so you’re never too far from the beach.

Porthmeor

If you’re into surfing or want to learn how, then this may be one of your best options for the beach. Porthmeor is very family and surfer friendly. They offer a load of courses for people that want to give surfing a try. If you already have some experience then there is nothing stopping you from taking to the waves on your own. There is also a great selection of cafes and restaurants right on the beach so you never really have to leave!

Gwithian

Looking to get a little bit more rowdy than most on holiday? If you said yes then definitely check out Gwithian Beach. Not only is the surf a bit more serious but you have a lot of other options for adventure sports here. They also offer wind surfing and kite surfing. If you aren’t sure how you can handle any of these then just get in the water for some crazy body surfing!
